All the Nokia mobile users use either one of the two mostly used applications – PC suite or OVI suite for accessing the contents of their mobiles from their computer. These two applications allows users to manage their folders and data in their phone easily. They not only allows them to download new contents for phones, convert music, download maps but also provide an option of backup functionality which is very useful.

Find and Fix Broken Shortcuts

Whenever we install some tool in our system, we can choose either to create a shortcut on the desktop or not, but in most of the cases a shortcut is created. A shortcut is a nice way to start a program without going actually to its location.
With period of time, it happens that we either delete the program or change its location, in that case the shortcut is not updated which leads to nothing on double clicking it. So if your system also has several broken shortcuts which lead to nothing then here is a tool called Broken Shortcut Fixer that can search for all the invalid shortcuts for you and attempt to repair them automatically.
What this tool does is, it scans for all the broken and invalid shortcuts in the system and automatically tries to repair it but in case it is not able to repair the shortcut then it lists all those shortcuts before you to take the necessary action. You can now either delete the shortcut or manually browse for the file.
The tool Broken Shortcut Fixer is supported on both 32 and 64 bit versions of the Windows OS and the tool can be downloaded from the location below.

Break the 2D limitation of your Windows desktop. Try the 3D experience for a more comfy computing. T3Desk is one such tiny (841 KB) app that turns your Windows desktop into a 3D interface.
Download T3Desk and install it. Once the application starts all you need to do is right-click the minimize button of the window or hold SHIFT, CTRL and ALT key while clicking the minimize button. This will 3Dmize (minimize in a 3D) instead of simply minimizing it. To open the window again, double click the 3Dmized window. Double click the notification area icon to customize the tool to suit your needs.

5 Excellent Free Websites to Make Animated GIFs

All of us love to have animated GIF images as your display pictures on our Instant Messengers, social network profiles and what not. However, very few can actually create their own GIF images according to their own liking. Today we present to you five of the easiest online tools which you can use to create your own GIF images and then use them wherever you like:

Probably the easiest tool to get hold of in order to make animated GIF images, Imator just does that and more. The great thing is that there seems to be no limit to how many images you can upload and convert them to GIFs. Also, you can create animated banners and avatars for use on blogging websites and forums to let everyone see your creativity. Images can be uploaded from your PC and/or any URL. The simple drag and drop interface easily lets you work and animation speeds of your images can be selected from a pre-defined drop down list.

Another great website which allows for creation of animated GIF images, Loogix helps you create your own animated GIF in just three steps. First you need to upload an image (PC or URL). Next, you are required to select the size and speed of the animation you want to apply and finally generate the desired animation and that’s it. Your GIF animated image is ready. Maximum pixel size which can be set is 400 pixels using Loogix.

The great thing about Gickr is that it allows you to upload images from YouTube as well, making it easy for you to make animated images out of video clips. Simply Specify a YouTube video URL and you’re on the go. There is a limit of 10 pictures maximum for Gickr which might be a turn off for many. Also a YouTube video converted will only contain a maximum of 45 frames. However, the ability to make animated images from YouTube videos is just amazing. Created GIF Images are downloadable to PC as well.

Picasion gives you the ability to resize your images before you actually turn them into animations and also lets you upload pictures from many services like Facebook, Twitter, Bebo, MySpace, Flickr etc. Moreover, you can also rotate the pictures and add color effects to them while turning them into cool animations.

Make A GIF

The best thing about Make a GIF is that you can add multiple images at the same time up to a maximum number of 12 with each image not being more than 1MB in size. Also, you can edit and resize the image before applying the animation and animation time can be set even in milliseconds for some more precision. However, one bad thing about Make a GIF is that it doesn’t provide the user with the ability to one-click download the created GIF and you have to manually save it from your browser.

Share Keyboard and Mouse among Two Computers Connected Via LAN

I use two computers at my desk – an HP 520 notebook running Windows vista along with an Intel P4 desktop on Windows XP. Both the computers are connected via LAN using an Ethernet cable and I share internet connection between them using an ADSL router.

confusion between keyboards and mouse in multiple=

The problem comes when I get confused between the keyboard and mouse pairs. Sometimes, I move the mouse of my desktop computer thinking that I am moving the mouse of my laptop. Another disadvantage of the above setup is “Desk clutter” – caused by wires, cables and peripheral devices.

With InputDirector, you can remove the extra keyboard and mouse if both the computers are connected across a network (LAN or WAN). You can operate both the computers using a single mouse and keyboard as described below:

How to Share Keyboard and Mouse across Computers connected in a Network

Let’s assume you have two computers at your workplace – computer1 is the host or “Master” while computer 2 is the client or “slave”. Both the systems are connected through a Local area network connection and you can share files, documents etc. Following are the steps involved to share mouse and keyboard across multiple computers:

1. Install Input Director on both computers.

2. Open InputDirector in the “Host computer”. The computer whose mouse and keyboard you will use to operate both the computers is the “Host Computer”. The other computer is called as “Slave system”.

3. Go to “Global Preferences” and select the option “On Start, Input Director is Enabled as Master”. Also, select the checkbox “Share Clipboard”. This will allow you to quickly copy files across the two systems.

4. On the Slave System, right click “My computer” from the start menu and select “properties”. Switch to the “Computer Name” tab and note the name of the Slave system.

5. On the “Host” system, open Input Director and navigate to the “Master configuration” tab. Click “Add” and add the name of the “Slave” system.

6. On the Slave System, open Input Director and navigate to the “Slave configuration” tab. Enter the name of the Master computer and select the option “Allow any computer to take control”.

7. Hit “Ok” and you will see a system tray notification saying “The Slave system is now available”.

This means that you are ready to share the keyboard and mouse of your master computer with the slave computer.

Sharing the mouse: Just move the mouse of master computer around the edge of the screen and it would appear in the monitor of the slave system. You can then operate the slave system with the mouse of the master system and do all kinds of work – even shut down the slave system. Move the mouse to the edge of the slave screen, and the cursor returns to the master computer.

Sharing the keyboard: To share the keyboard, first move the mouse in the monitor of the slave system. Then start typing in the master computer’s keyboard and the words would appear in any application window of the slave computer.

Watch the following video demo to learn how Input Director works:

The application also lets you share clipboard data. Suppose you want to copy a file from the slave computer to the master computer without using “My Network Places”. Copy the file in the slave computer, move the mouse to the master computer and hit “Paste”. Done!

Remove Copy and Regional Protection from Blu-Ray DVD

In Blu-ray discs, there are some restrictions which prevents copying / reproducing of the movies.
